TELL ME ABOUT IT
The brief’s objective was to re-purpose and design a board game using the “race-to-the-finish” framework of “Candy Land” as inspiration. I used thematic artwork inspired by “Little Red Riding Hood” to create the playing cards, game board, box cover, and game pieces. I created a rendered image of two characters playing pieces and designed five different board locations similar to the layout of “Candy Land.” I designed a digital mock-up for a promotional shot using Adobe Dimensions.

HOW'S IT WORK
Purr-fect Delivery is a “Race to the End” board game based on the fairy tale - Little Red Riding Hood. The player pieces resemble the characters from the fairy tale. One player must play as the Big Bad Wolf and up to three players can play as Little Red Riding Hood Kitty Cats, in either red, blue or green coloured playing pieces. The race to the end of the game has players delivering a basket of cookies to Grandma’s house while trying to outrun and outwit the Big Bad Wolf just like in the popular fairy tale. The goal of Purr-fect Delivery is to move your players through the game board’s stepping stone pathway.  During a turn, each player draws a card from a deck containing instructions on how many stones they skip (either forwards or backwards) or turns they lose. Each stepping stone represents one move. The Big Bad Wolf draws cards from a second deck that contains special instructions, some meant to impede the wolf-player’s forward movement through the game. If the Wolf does manage to land on the same stepping stone as one of the Little Red Riding Hood Kitty Cats, that player loses their position on the pathway and has to go back to the start of the game. The winner is the first player to get to Grandma’s House.
